Ali MacGraw
Ali attended Wellesley College and studied art history. She worked for magazines that focused on fashion upon her graduation. Her interest in fashion photography made her an elite model. A profession she carried on until the year 1968 when she got a late start on what would become the beginning of a film career that was sporadic in part because of her union with Steve McQueen. Her films generally were either extremely successful or failed. Today the former actress lives within New Mexico in a modest kind of way. The film that stunned the world was Love Story (1970), her second starring role] If you're a baby about the media, as I was, you can't imagine the feeling you get when that great machine of approval shines the light of approval on you as every time you step on the street, someone is able to come through a male's hole to discuss your hairstyle. It's been my experience that survival stardom depends on doing the work to find your identity so that you do not define your self by the things people say about your appearance. It's impossible to prepare for such an avalanche. The mistake is to take it as the conclusion of the story.
