Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - a Canadian and American musician and singer. More than 20 albums were released by her. Her music is categorized as folk, alternative and rock but also has influences of hip-hop and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely recognized as an icon for feminist music. In the year 1990, she was among the first people to launch her own independent record label. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They began their relationship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian origin and her mother came from Montreal. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors. It is featured on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani DiFranco, that was released in 1996. Another version of the song is featured on the film soundtrack for 1999's Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was announced that she was planning to hold an event for three days at a Louisiana plantation for slaves. The event was later cancelled but she didn't show any regret. DiFranco apologized again a few days afterwards. While she is known by the name of Little Peoplesinger, she's collaborated with a variety of musicians and artists from Pete Seeger through Chuck D up to Prince. Her home is New Orleans. Ani and Kristen Ford. In just 14 months, DiFranco was already writing her own lyrics. She performed them at coffeehouses, bars, and in the streets throughout her teenage years. DiFranco started taking lessons at Buffalo State College at age 16 after graduating from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's new baritone guitar is a custom Alvarez created following several meetings between myself and Chrys Johnson who was an artist rep for Alvarez when the guitar was made. The System 600 preamp is on it, and the guitar has a mahogany top and back that has an ebony fretboard. Her residence is New Orleans. There she lives with her husband, kids and her long-legged pet Lefty. DiFranco is open about the fact that she feels mixed emotions about her previous career which spans three years. Ani DiFranco achieved her musical iconic status as a songwriter/singer and punk/folk at the age 25 both with both fans and critics with Not A Pretty Girl. Dilate added even more success to DiFranco's music in 1996. The song, a pop rock hit from 1972 (You're a gorgeous girl) was written by American band Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass.
